PhDs who chose communication

We found our passion in the the part of science most people overlook: the moment it reaches another human being and actually changes something: a decision, a partnership, a purchase.

Our Values

The scientists who couldn't
stay silent about it.

Here are two young scientists with a PhD in their hands. After investing deeply in science, the long hours in the lab and the long pages in our thesis, we felt something else was moving us.

We loved to communicate, teach, write fiction and poems. All of this requiere an ability: understanding people’s mind and translate science into a message that drives results.

That’s something not many scientists have. And for life-science companies, that gap is expensive. When science stays in the lab, it means lost partnerships, lack of funding and clients who don’t understand your value. Science is both difficult to explain, but highly dependent on clarity to create results.

Our path was pretty clear. We founded Helixa Communications to get your incredible science and make people feel as amazed as we do about it, without losing accuracy, and without consuming more time from your team. We built Helixa around the values we believe in: quality, honesty, and shared growth.

Who We Are

Meet the scientists behind the words

Nuria Martín Wentzien

Co-founder & Scientific Writer

Here is the detail freak. If you thought of a mistake, she's already revised it a hundred times before you noticed. Nuria is the kind of scientist who gets genuinely excited about your research, and that shows in every word she writes.

Her career spans pharma and human health through her BSc in Biochemistry, biotech through her MSc, and soil microbiology through a PhD that produced peer-reviewed publications. She brings the rigour to get the science right, and the clarity to make it impossible to ignore.

Darío Sánchez Martín

Co-founder & Scientific Writer

Here is the thousand-ideas freak. Before you finish explaining your project, Darío already has a dozen angles, three audience framings, and a content structure in mind. He thinks in strategy as naturally as he thinks in science.

A former professor and R&D consultant, he has written for leading scientific institutions and companies across Europe, including BOSCH and BASF. He knows that the hardest part of science communication isn't the writing. It's knowing what to say, to whom, and in what order.

Ready to stop explaining your science to people that don’t get it?

Don't take our word for it

"Working with Helixa was smooth and significantly reduced our workload. The first draft was of very high quality and delivered within unbeatable timing. They took the time necessary to understand our audience and expectations."

— Laurent Bai, Starfish Biosicence

“They turned complex concepts into an engaging narrative that speaks to farmers, partners, and investors alike. Their scientific rigor, and ability to work almost autonomously greatly reduced the workload on our side.”

— José A. de Cote, Holissor
